1. How long does it take GPS to fix my location?
Under normal usage where the unit has already been in use, it should take less than 2 minutes. If the unit has not been in “sleep” mode or has not been used for quite some times and the batter has run down, it make up to 10 minutes to reposition itself. In other words, the less the time-in-between usage, the faster the fix. |

2. Why can't I get a good signal in my car?
This GPS included in your hardware is the latest technology in GPS and is designed for use in an automobile. However all GPS have to have some view of the sky with no signal blockage. Some types of sun ray reducing film, especially ones with lead content, can block the signal completely (even though the sky is visible). It is recommended that you always use the supplied external antenna for best reception. |

3. Where should I place the external antenna?
The external antenna is magnetic and will stick to you metal car body. Please place it on the top of the car with the wire running between the door and the car frame, not between the glass window and door frame. The door frame has rubber cushion designed for the wire to pass through easily. Putting the wire between the glass window frames will damage the wiring and void your warrantee. |
